"Don’t live the same year 75 times and call it a life."
Update #16 This will be one of my last Instagram posts. It makes me sad, but I know it will be worth it. I recently went on a men’s retreat that focused on making decisions in faith. I have made a decision to give up my smart phone. I chose this picture because this tree was providing shade to me. Just as God is often willing to do. He offers defense against things that burn us. Like shade from the burning sun, but we can still choose to leave that shade. Which I often have. God is giving me a way out of many temptations by convicting me of my smart phone usage and allowing me to stay in His shade. By keeping technology that makes pornography so easy to view I’m voluntarily walking away from that hedge of protection. Because I’m not disciplined enough, this is a small price to pay to pursue righteousness and protect the hearts of women in my life. I want this to be a message of conviction for anyone else as well. What do we need to cut out of our lives? No matter how inconvenient to live God honoring lives? Giving up all of myself for all of Him? There is no need to balance the scale because I find all of my worth in Christ.
Spent my entire Friday reading A Grief Observed in one sitting. What a journey. #tea #books #vscocam #vsco #friday #ptl #cslewis

This is so perfect that I just laughed out loud in a very crowded public library.
